Searching for Transients in VLASS Data

This internship project focused on detecting transient astronomical events in the Very Large Array Sky Survey (VLASS) data. By analyzing data from Epochs 1 and 2, the study applied robust data filtering, coordinate matching using Python and TOPCAT, and visualization techniques to uncover dynamic radio phenomena. The work led to striking Aitoff projections, histograms, and scatter plots that reveal the spatial and temporal variations in the radio sky.
